East side versus West side

Dear readers,

I was at a listing appointment today, and heard something I hadn't really thought about, yet.

I was visiting with an older couple, who were selling their next to the, next to the last home they plan to ever own. Anyway, there planned to never live on the west side of College Station again. The reason they cited was;

If you live on the east side, you are driving west on the way to work in the morning (sun at your back), and east on the way home again in the evening (again, sun at your back). They apparently did not like looking into the sun.

Of course, the worst commute in our fain community is no more than 10-15 minutes anyway.

Just something else to think (and blog) about.

Blue skies,

Sam White

I've heard of worse reasons to move...if everyone moved with the direction of the sun...we would have a lot of business!

It is amazing what some people consider a big deal, isn't it?

Its always interesting to hear the reasons why people move. Some are ones you would never think of in a million years.

At Thanksgiving dinner a drivers education student child of one of our friends was saying she had the same problem - couldn't drive to school in the morning (east) or home in the afternoon (west).  Perhaps there can be study done that north-south commuter routes are better for more uniform real estate values across a metro area than east-west routes.  There's something for a geek with nothing better to do, to do.
